Biography
Scott Alario is an American composer and artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. He holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (2013) and a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art (2006). Since 2017 he has worked as a studio art technician at Providence College.
Alario has collaborated with composer Alex Somers since 2003. With Somers and Forest Kelley he composed the score for the documentary Hale County This Morning, This Evening (2018), directed by RaMell Ross, which received an Oscar nomination and won the IDA Documentary Award for Best Music Score. Alario and Somers reunited with Ross for the feature Nickel Boys (2024). He is also credited as composer on the short Easter Snap (2019).
