Biography
Scott Hornbacher is an American television producer and director. He began his career as a production assistant on films in the 1980s and worked as a location manager in the 1990s before moving into television.
He held various production roles on The Sopranos (2000–2006), rising to co-producer, and collaborated there with Matthew Weiner. Weiner hired him for the pilot of Mad Men (2007–2015), where Hornbacher served as producer, unit production manager, co-executive producer and executive producer across all seven seasons. He also directed nine episodes of the series. The production team, including Hornbacher, won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
His other credits include producing the film Are You Here (2013) and directing episodes of Billions (2016), Conviction (2016) and The Last Tycoon (2017), on which he was also executive producer.
