Biography
Scott Ian (born Scott Ian Rosenfeld, 31 December 1963) is an American musician and actor. He is the rhythm guitarist, lyricist and sole continuous member of the thrash metal band Anthrax, which he co-founded in 1981. He is also a founding member of Stormtroopers of Death and has performed with the Damned Things and Mr. Bungle.
Ian has appeared as himself in documentaries including Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008), Lemmy (2010) and Metal Lords (2022). His acting credits include the role of Butcher in an episode of the series Evil (2019) and a voice role in Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar (2023). He has also featured in episodes of Married... with Children (1992) and NewsRadio (1995).
Ian has hosted The Rock Show on VH1 and appeared on the network's I Love the... series. He has been married to singer Pearl Aday since 2011.
