Biography
Scott Kecken is a director, producer, cinematographer and editor. With his partner Joy Lusco Kecken he founded the production company The Film Foundry in 1997. Their first collaboration, the short film Louisville (1998), screened at more than thirty festivals, won eleven awards and was broadcast on BET, PBS and Showtime.
Kecken received the Individual Artist Award in Filmmaking from the Maryland State Arts Council in 1999. He co-directed, shot and edited the documentary We Are Arabbers (2004) about Baltimore’s horse-and-wagon produce vendors, and co-directed the short Woman Hollering Creek (2004). He is a co-founder of Baltimore’s Creative Alliance movie makers (CAmm). In 2008 he co-directed an episode of the final season of the HBO series The Wire with his wife; the couple later moved to Los Angeles.
