Biography

Scott Kosar is an American screenwriter and producer known for work in the horror and thriller genres. He wrote the screenplay for The Machinist (2004) while attending the graduate screenwriting programme at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He later wrote the screenplays for the 2003 remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror.

Kosar received the Distinguished Achievement in Screenwriting Award from UCLA in 2006 and served as the Hunter/Zakin screenwriting chair at the school in 2009–2010. His other credits include the screenplay for The Crazies (2010) and writing and producing work on the television series Bates Motel (2013–2017) and The Haunting of Hill House (2018).
