Biography
Seiji Mizushima is a Japanese anime director. Born on 28 January 1966 in Fuchū, Tokyo, he graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College. He began his career in photography on series such as Doraemon before working as a production assistant at Sunrise and later directing episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995.
Mizushima has directed numerous television series, including Generator Gawl (1998), Shaman King (2001), Fullmetal Alchemist (2003), Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (2007–2009) and Concrete Revolutio (2015). His feature films include Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa (2005), which won the Mainichi Film Award for Best Animation Film, and Expelled from Paradise (2014). In 2015 he received the Individual Award at the 20th Animation Kobe Awards.
