Biography
Sergio G. Sánchez is a Spanish screenwriter and film director. Born in 1973 in Oviedo, Asturias, he began writing screenplays in the mid-1990s and directed several short films, including 7337 (2000) and Temporada baja (2003).
His first feature screenplay was for The Orphanage (2007), directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, for which Sánchez won the Goya Award for Best Original Screenplay. He later wrote the screenplays for The Impossible (2012), also directed by Bayona, Palm Trees in the Snow (2015) and The End (2012). Sánchez made his feature directorial debut with Marrowbone (2017) and has directed episodes of the television series The Girl in the Mirror (2022).
