Biography
Sharon McFarlane is a Canadian actor and acting coach based in Toronto. She trained at the BFA Acting Program at the University of Alberta and holds a diploma from Sheridan College in Performance Arts. Her theatre work has included companies across Canada, among them the Stratford Festival, where she understudied Portia in The Merchant of Venice and earned a Guthrie Award.
On screen she is known for the role of Helen Donovan in the 2015 film Spotlight, a recurring part as Dr. Carolyn Ray in the series Saving Hope (2012–2015), and appearances in The Girlfriend Experience (2016), Mrs. America (2020) and Gen V (2023). She has also worked as a casting director on the 1999 short Tuba Girl and teaches on-camera acting at studios in Toronto.
