Biography
Shawn Peters is a cinematographer whose credits include Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021), for which he shot the contemporary interviews, and Really Love (2020). He has worked extensively with director Terence Nance on projects such as An Oversimplification of Her Beauty (2012), multiple shorts, and the HBO series Random Acts of Flyness (2018–2022).
Peters studied photography and cinematography at the University of South Carolina. After periods working in technology and running a record label, he completed New York University’s Summer Intensive Cinematography Program. His other credits include Goldie (2019), Adam (2019), In Our Mothers' Gardens (2021) and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (2022).
