Biography
Shelley Birse is an Australian television writer and producer. She created and wrote the political thriller series The Code (2014–2016), which received six AACTA Awards including Best Television Drama Series, the 2014 AWGIE Major Award for Television Miniseries Original, and the 2015 Fipa d’Or for screenplay.
Birse began her career on the ABC series GP and co-created, co-wrote and associate produced the 26-part series Love Is a Four-Letter Word (2001). Her other writing credits include Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (2012), The Commons (2019) and episodes of Silo (2023), on which she also serves as consulting producer. She has written extensively for children’s drama, including Lockie Leonard and Blue Water High.
