Biography
Sherman Payne is a writer, producer and director. He earned a BFA in Film Production from Wright State University and an MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University.
Payne has written for the television series Shameless (2011), serving as writer, executive story editor and co-producer; Legacies (2018); and Scream: The TV Series (2015). His feature screenplays include Charm City Kings (2020), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and Black as Night (2021). He created and served as showrunner on the series Emperor of Ocean Park (2024).
