Biography
Nansun Shi (also credited as Shi Nansun or Nansun Shi) was a Hong Kong film producer and executive. Born on 8 August 1951 in Hong Kong, she studied statistics and computing at the Polytechnic of North London before entering the industry in the late 1970s through television work and joining Cinema City as executive director in 1981.
In 1984 she co-founded Film Workshop with director Tsui Hark. She later served as vice president at Media Asia, where she produced Infernal Affairs (2002), and held roles including chairman of Bona Film Group. Her credits include A Better Tomorrow (1986), the Once Upon a Time in China series, A Simple Life (2011) and several Detective Dee films. She and Tsui Hark married in 1996 and divorced in 2014 but continued to collaborate professionally until her death on 13 July 2026.
