Biography
Shinichi Wakasa is a Japanese model maker, sculptor and special effects makeup artist. He founded MONSTERS Inc. in 1980 and began working in tokusatsu that year on the Ultraman 80 television series.
Wakasa served as suit sculptor or suit maker on numerous Toho kaiju films, including Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993), Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999), Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000), Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003) and Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). He is also credited as costume designer on the latter two Godzilla films and worked on other projects such as Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996) and Gantz: Perfect Answer (2011).
