Biography
Shondrella Avery is an American actress, model and comedian. Born in Los Angeles, California, she grew up in South Central Los Angeles as the oldest of ten children. She graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and California State University, Los Angeles.
Avery began her career as a stand-up comedian and performer with the improvisational groups The Groundlings and Second City. She is known for her role as LaFawnduh in the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite. Other film credits include Domino (2005), Déjà Vu (2006), The Secret Life of Bees (2008) and End of Watch (2012). Television work includes roles in One on One and Cuts.
She is married to Ade Kester and has undertaken philanthropic work, including as an advocate for sickle cell disease.
