Biography
Silke Fischer is a German production designer. She studied visual communication with a focus on film at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and began working in film in the 1990s, initially directing and writing short films before specialising in production design from the early 2000s.
She is known for her work on Toni Erdmann (2016, dir. Maren Ade), Lore (2012, dir. Cate Shortland), Unorthodox (2020, dir. Maria Schrader) and several films directed by Emily Atef, including 3 Days in Quiberon (2018) and More Than Ever (2022). She has also served as art director on Berlin Syndrome (2017). Since 2018 she has been professor of production design at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In 2020 she shared the German Television Award for best set design on Unorthodox.
