Biography
Simon Gleeson is an Australian actor, singer and screenwriter. He trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts after secondary education at Xavier College in Melbourne.
Gleeson has performed principal roles in musicals and plays in Australia and London's West End, including Mamma Mia!, Eureka, The Far Pavilions and Imagine This. He played Raoul in the 2011 Australian production of Love Never Dies and Jean Valjean in the 2014 Australian revival of Les Misérables, reprising the role in the West End in 2016/17. He won a Helpmann Award for the Valjean role.
Gleeson co-wrote the screenplay for the 2024 film Better Man with Michael Gracey and Oliver Cole, and served as associate producer. He was a creative consultant on Gracey's 2017 film The Greatest Showman and has an ongoing collaboration with the director.
