Biography

Simon Moore is a British screenwriter, playwright and director. He created and wrote the 1989 Channel 4 miniseries Traffik, about the international drug trade, which later served as the basis for the 2000 film Traffic.

Moore wrote the screenplay for the 1995 Western The Quick and the Dead and the teleplay for the 1996 miniseries adaptation of Gulliver's Travels, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. He also wrote and directed the 1991 film noir Under Suspicion, and wrote the fantasy miniseries The 10th Kingdom (2000) and Dinotopia (2002).

As a playwright, Moore adapted Stephen King's novel Misery for the stage, with the production premiering in London's West End in 1992. He co-wrote the comedy musical Up on the Roof, which he later directed as a 1997 film.
