Biography
Simona Paggi is an Italian film editor born on 29 December 1962 in Milan. She began her career in the 1980s as an assistant editor and made her debut as lead editor on Gianni Amelio's Open Doors (1990), beginning a long collaboration with the director that continued into the 2000s.
Paggi edited Roberto Benigni's Life Is Beautiful (1997), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. She won the David di Donatello for Best Editing for Amelio's The Stolen Children (1992) and has worked on films including Lamerica (1994), Pinocchio (2002), Fading Gigolo (2013) and Hammamet (2020), as well as projects with directors such as Emanuele Crialese and John Turturro.
