Biography
Smita Bhide is a British writer, director and producer of film and television.
She co-created, wrote and co-produced the Netflix series The Indian Detective (2017). Her other television credits include writing episodes of Hunted (2012), Transporter: The Series (2014), Ten Pound Poms (2023–2025) and The Girlfriend (2025). She wrote the screenplay for the feature Desert Flower (2009).
Bhide wrote and directed the feature The Blue Tower (2008), which won the Raindance Best UK Feature award, and the short film Another Planet (2011).
