Biography
Sol Pendavis, also credited as Sol Williams Pendavis or Sol Williams, is an actor and participant in the New York City ballroom scene. He appeared as himself, serving as both narrator and on-screen commentator, in the documentary Paris Is Burning (1990).
Pendavis joined the House of Pendavis in the 1980s and is its current father. He worked as a consultant and appeared as a legendary judge on the television series Pose (2018). He has lectured on LGBTQ issues and the significance of Paris Is Burning at the Smithsonian Institution and made appearances at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and BRIC events. Pendavis served in the United States Armed Forces, retiring as a Captain in 2012, and holds degrees from Metropolitan College in New York.
