Biography
Sonia Yuan is a Taiwanese-American actor, also credited as Yuan Tzuyun or Yuan Zi-Yun. Born on 21 September 1990, she grew up in California, graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and later worked in Taiwan. A native speaker of Mandarin and English, she first gained recognition for her role in the Chinese romantic drama series Summer's Desire (2018).
Yuan made her feature film debut in the comedy The Island (2018). She is known for her performance as Janice Chang in Ryūsuke Hamaguchi's Drive My Car (2021), as well as roles in Taiwanese series including The Way You Shine (2023) and Wave Makers (2023).
