Biography
Soon-tek Oh (also credited as Soon-Tek Oh and other variants) was a Korean-American actor. Born in Mokpo, South Korea, he studied at Yonsei University in Seoul before emigrating to the United States, where he attended the University of Southern California and earned an MFA from UCLA.
He was an early member of the East West Players, a pioneering Asian-American theatre company, and appeared in the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures (1976). He later founded the Society of Heritage Performers, which became the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble. Oh voiced Fa Zhou in Disney's Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004), and appeared in films including The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) as Lieutenant Hip and Beverly Hills Ninja (1997) as Sensei, as well as numerous television series such as MASH, MacGyver and Stargate SG-1*.
He died in Los Angeles in 2018.
