Biography
Sophie Devine, also credited as Sophie Harris or Sophia Harris of Motley, was a British costume and production designer. She co-founded the Motley Theatre Design Group in the 1930s with her sister Margaret Harris and Elizabeth Montgomery, initially working in theatre and later extending to film.
Her film credits include Great Expectations (1946), credited as Sophia Harris of Motley, The Innocents (1961), The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), The Pumpkin Eater (1964), for which she received a BAFTA Award, and The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965). She was married to actor and director George Devine.
