Biography
Sophie Fillières was a French film director and screenwriter. She graduated from La Fémis in its first promotion (direction section) in 1990. She directed her first short film, Des filles et des chiens, in 1991 and went on to make feature films including Grande petite (1994), Aïe (2000), Gentille (2005), If You Don't, I Will (2014), When Margaux Meets Margaux (2018) and This Life of Mine (2024).
She also wrote screenplays for other directors and appeared in acting roles, including as Monica in Anatomy of a Fall (2023). Fillières was married to screenwriter and director Pascal Bonitzer. She died in Paris on 31 July 2023.
