Biography
Stanley Roberts (born Stanley Lowenstein) was an American screenwriter. He began his career in the 1930s writing for B-Westerns, initially credited as Stanley Lowenstein, before adopting the Roberts name.
His notable film credits include the screenplay for The Caine Mutiny (1954), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay; Death of a Salesman (1951); Song of the Thin Man (1947); and Come September (1961). He later wrote episodes for television series including Bonanza, Mannix and Hart to Hart.
Roberts was born on 17 May 1916 in New York City and died on 22 April 1982 in Beverly Hills, California.
