Biography
Starletta DuPois is an American actress. She was born on 18 July 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1968 and received an MFA in Theatre Arts from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. DuPois made her Broadway debut in the 1974 play What the Wine-Sellers Buy and received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for The Mighty Gents (1978).
Her film credits include Death Wish (1974), Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985), Wolf (1994), Waiting to Exhale (1995), Big Momma's House (2000), Friday After Next (2002) and The Notebook (2004), in which she played Nurse Esther. She has also appeared in television series including Lost (2004) and voices Etta in the 2026 series Bass X Machina.
