Biography
Stephan Bechinger is a German film editor. He studied at the European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark, and at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in the editing department, with a year abroad that included work at Cinema Jenin in the West Bank and studies at the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School in Jerusalem. He completed his studies with the documentary Beyond the Snowstorm (2016).
Bechinger has edited feature films including System Crasher (2019, co-edited with Julia Kovalenko), The Unforgivable (2021), Eismayer (2022) and The Outrun (2024). He has collaborated repeatedly with director Nora Fingscheidt. His awards include the German Film Award for Best Editing for System Crasher (2020), the German Film Critics' Award for The Impossible Picture (2018) and a Romy for Where No One Knows Us.
