Biography

Stéphane Freiss is a French actor who has worked in film, television and theatre. He trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, graduating in 1985, and became a pensionnaire at the Comédie-Française.

Freiss made his screen debut in the early 1980s. He appeared as Jean-Pierre in Agnès Varda's Vagabond (1985) and received the César Award for Most Promising Actor for his role in Chouans! (1988). His other credits include 5×2 (2004), Munich (2005), Welcome to the Sticks (2008), Hereafter (2010) and My Old Lady (2014).
