Biography
Stephen Trask (born Stephen R. Schwartz, 29 August 1966) is an American composer and musician. He graduated from Wesleyan University and was music director and a member of the house band at the New York City club Squeezebox.
Trask composed the music and lyrics for the stage musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch (1998), which received an Obie Award, and its 2001 film adaptation, for which he received a Grammy nomination. He scored the films Camp (2003) and The Station Agent (2003).
He has collaborated on multiple films with director Paul Weitz, including In Good Company (2004), American Dreamz (2006) and Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009). A Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch opened in 2014 and won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
