Biography
Steve Dorff is an American songwriter and composer. Born in New York City on 21 April 1949, he has written numerous pop and country hits recorded by artists including Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Anne Murray and Eddie Rabbitt, as well as film and television scores.
Dorff composed themes for the series Spenser: For Hire, Murphy Brown, Growing Pains, Just the Ten of Us and The Singing Bee, and contributed music to Murder, She Wrote and Reba. His film work includes scores and songs for Every Which Way but Loose (1978), Bronco Billy (1980), Honkytonk Man (1982), Pink Cadillac (1989) and Blast from the Past (1999). He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018 and has received multiple Grammy and Emmy nominations. He is the father of actor Stephen Dorff.
