Biography
Steve Marmel is an American television writer, producer and former stand-up comedian. Born on 17 December 1964 in Lincolnwood, Illinois, he began performing comedy at the age of 18. He was discovered in 1996 by a Hanna-Barbera executive while performing in Los Angeles and hired as a writer for Johnny Bravo.
Marmel has written for numerous animated series, including Family Guy (1999 and 2013–14), The Fairly OddParents (2001–06, where he frequently collaborated with Butch Hartman), Danny Phantom (2004–07) and Cow and Chicken. He created the live-action series Sonny with a Chance (2009–11) and So Random! (2011–12), as well as the animated series Mech-X4 (2016). He studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin and has received Emmy and Annie Award nominations for his writing and producing work.
