Biography
Steve Railsback is an American actor. Born in Dallas, Texas, he trained with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio and spent ten years working in theatre in New York City during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He made his film debut in The Visitors (1972), directed by Elia Kazan.
He is known for his performances in The Stunt Man (1980) and Lifeforce (1985), and for portraying Charles Manson in the 1976 television miniseries Helter Skelter. Railsback played Duane Barry in two episodes of The X-Files (1994) and Joseph Welch in the pilot episode of Supernatural (2005). He also appeared as Ed Gein in In the Light of the Moon (2000), which he executive produced.
