Biography
Steve Viksten was an American television writer and voice actor. He co-developed the Nickelodeon animated series Hey Arnold! (1996–2004) with Craig Bartlett and Joe Ansolabehere, and voiced the character Oskar Kokoshka. He wrote numerous episodes of the series, as well as episodes of Rugrats (1991–1994), Recess (1997–2001) and Duckman (1994).
Viksten's sole writing credit for The Simpsons (1989) was the season 22 episode 'Homer Scissorhands' (2011), co-written with Peter Gaffney. This was his final writing credit. He also served as co-producer and co-executive producer on Hey Arnold! and contributed to the 2002 feature film Hey Arnold! The Movie.
Viksten was born Stephen Lee Viksten on 19 July 1960 in Ventura, California, and died on 23 June 2014 in Roseville, California, aged 53. The television film Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie (2017) was dedicated to his memory.
