Biography

Steve Worland is an Australian screenwriter and novelist. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Screenwriting from the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 1995, having attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing Program as part of an exchange in 1993. He later worked in script development at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment.

Worland wrote episodes of the television series Big Sky (1997) and served as a staff writer on the third season of Farscape (2001). His feature screenplays include Bootmen (2000) and Paper Planes (2014), the latter of which won the AACTA Award for Best Original Screenplay. He also wrote the telemovie Hard Knox (2001) and the film Go! (2020). In addition to his screen work, he has published several action-adventure novels.
