Biography
Steven Haft is an American film producer, media executive and attorney. He graduated with a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and is admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Haft produced Dead Poets Society (1989), Hocus Pocus (1993), Emma (1996), Jakob the Liar (1999), Tigerland (2000), The Singing Detective (2003) and Eulogy (2004), among other films. He also served as executive producer on Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) and Three Christs (2017), and co-producer on Hocus Pocus 2 (2022). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for Dead Poets Society.
After more than twenty years producing films, Haft moved into media roles, including vice president and chief strategy officer at AOL, and later positions at Time Inc. He founded the consultancy Indyworks.
