Biography
Steven Peterman is an American television writer, producer and former actor. He studied at Harvard College and began his career in the late 1970s, appearing in small roles before moving into writing and production.
He contributed as a writer to Murphy Brown (1988) and rose to executive producer on the series. With his writing partner Gary Dontzig, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the 1990 episode "Jingle Hell, Jingle Hell, Jingle All the Way". Peterman later developed Suddenly Susan (1996) and served as executive producer on Hannah Montana (2006). His other credits include A Different World (1987), Becker (1998) and the television films A Royal Queens Christmas (2021) and The Baker's Son (2021).
