Biography
Steven Schachter is an American director and screenwriter of television, theatre and film. He has frequently collaborated with actor William H. Macy on made-for-television films, including co-writing and directing The Con (1998), A Slight Case of Murder (1999), Door to Door (2002) and The Wool Cap (2004).
Schachter directed the feature film The Deal (2008), written by and starring Macy. He wrote an episode of the series Shameless (2012). His earlier work includes stage direction and the television adaptation of David Mamet's The Water Engine. He received Primetime Emmy Awards for directing and writing Door to Door.
