Biography
Stewart Main is a New Zealand director, editor and writer. He has worked extensively in film and television, with credits including an episode of the series Xena: Warrior Princess (1996) and one of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1996).
Main's feature films include the period melodrama Desperate Remedies (1992), co-directed with Peter Wells, and 50 Ways of Saying Fabulous (2005), which he also wrote. He has directed numerous shorts and documentaries, often exploring themes of identity and sexuality, and collaborated frequently with Wells on projects such as the coming-of-age drama My First Suit (1985) and the AIDS-related film A Death in the Family (1986).
