Biography
Sue Federman is a television editor, also credited as Susan Federman. She began her career as a professional violinist with orchestras in Honolulu and San Francisco before a mid-life change to film editing. After attending a film-production workshop at the University of Southern California in 1994, she joined the union in 1996 and worked as an assistant and editor on sitcoms including Becker and Frasier (2003).
Federman edited 205 episodes of How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014) and received four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series for her work on that series and How I Met Your Father (2022). She has also edited Man with a Plan (2016–2020), Loot (2022) and A Man on the Inside (2024).
