Biography
Susan McMartin is an American screenwriter and television producer. She graduated from the Dramatic Writing program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and began her career with credits on soap operas including Port Charles and Another World.
Her television work includes writing and producing on Two and a Half Men (2011–2014) and Mom (2014–2021), both for Chuck Lorre. She wrote the screenplay for the 2016 film Mr. Church, drew from her own life, and co-wrote the screenplay for After (2019). Other credits include the story for Son in Law (1993) and teleplay for the 2016 television film Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart. She also wrote the book Understanding the Fall.
McMartin co-created the Netflix series Leanne (2025) with Chuck Lorre and Leanne Morgan, and wrote the screenplay for Regretting You (2025).
