Biography
Susanna Haavisto is a Finnish actress and singer. Born in Helsinki on 20 October 1957, she is the daughter of musician Jukka Haavisto and sister of musicians Olli and Janne Haavisto. She trained at theatre school from 1978 to 1982 and was employed at Helsinki City Theatre from 1982 to 1985 before becoming a freelancer.
Haavisto is known for her role as Irmeli Pihlaja in the film Ariel (1988) and as Elina Kautsalo in the television series Arctic Circle (2018–2022). She has appeared in numerous other films and television programmes, including Anni tahtoo äidin (1989) and Soitinmenot (1985–1987), and has released several solo albums. She served as Finland's first UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has worked extensively in theatre, including at Svenska Teatern and other venues.
