Biography
Sven Budelmann is a German film editor. He was born on 30 November 1973 in Bremen, where he grew up and began working in film production after leaving school in 1993. He started as a freelance editor of documentaries and image films the following year, later specialising in music videos and commercials before moving to Berlin.
Budelmann has edited numerous feature films and television series. He has collaborated extensively with director Philipp Stölzl on projects including North Face (2008), Young Goethe in Love (2010) and The Physician (2013). He has also worked repeatedly with Edward Berger, editing the series Deutschland 83 and the feature All Quiet on the Western Front (2022). Other credits include Stereo (2014), for which he received a German Film Award nomination, Chess Story (2021) and It's Just a Phase, Honeybunny (2021).
Budelmann is a member of the European Film Academy, the German Film Academy and the Bundesverband Film Editors.
