Biography
Szymon Biernacki is a Polish production designer and visual development artist specialising in animated films. Born in 1985 in Warsaw, he studied architecture at Warsaw Technical University before working as a concept artist and illustrator on animated commercials, game cinematics including Age of Empires Online, and series such as Halo 4: Spartan Ops.
He joined The SPA Studios in 2013 as a visual development artist on Smallfoot (2018). Biernacki shared production design duties with Marcin Jakubowski on the Netflix feature Klaus (2019), directed by Sergio Pablos. The film received a BAFTA award, an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, and seven Annie Awards, including Outstanding Achievement for Production Design.
