Biography
Takahito Sakurai (櫻井 隆仁) is a Japanese composer and sanshin player from Okinawa Prefecture. He founded the music production company Sakurai Music Workshop in 1999 after working as a director at Teichiku Entertainment.
Sakurai specialises in composing departure melodies for railway stations and has created over fifty such pieces, primarily for JR East and Kyoto Municipal Subway. He has also released albums featuring arrangements of anime songs as station melodies.
In film, he contributed theme music and tracks including 'Furui Orgel' and 'In A Little While' to the 2016 animated feature Your Name..
