Biography

Takumi Bando (坂東工) is a Japanese actor. Born on 25 July 1977 in Tokyo, he graduated from Nihon University College of Art before moving to the United States, where he studied acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.

He made his Hollywood screen debut with an uncredited role as a Triad gangster in The Departed (2006) and appeared as Captain Tanida in Letters from Iwo Jima (2006). After returning to Japan he has worked in films including Rain Fall (2009), Genome Hazard (2013) and Antiporno (2017), and in television dramas. He has also hosted The Bachelor Japan and works as an artist and narrator.
