Biography

Takuro Ishizaka is a Japanese cinematographer born on 17 August 1974 in Kawasaki. He studied cinematography at Chapman University and works between Los Angeles and Tokyo.

He is known for his work on the Rurouni Kenshin live-action film series (2012–2021) and films including Sakuran (2006), Manhunt (2017), Samurai Marathon (2019) and Knuckle Girl (2023). Ishizaka served as cinematographer on Rental Family (2025).

He is the son of screenwriter Taichi Yamada and brother of director Rieko Miyamoto. Ishizaka has received awards for his cinematography on short films.
