Biography
Talisa Soto is an American actress and former model. Born Miriam Soto on 27 March 1967 in Brooklyn, New York City, she began modelling at the age of 15 and appeared in magazines including Vogue, Mademoiselle and Glamour before turning to acting.
Her feature film debut came in 1988 with Spike of Bensonhurst. The following year she played Lupe Lamora in the James Bond film Licence to Kill. She is also known for portraying Princess Kitana in Mortal Kombat (1995) and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997), as well as roles in Don Juan DeMarco (1994), Spy Hard (1996) and Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002).
Soto was married to actor Costas Mandylor from 1997 to 2000 and has been married to actor Benjamin Bratt since 2002. She largely retired from acting after their marriage, appearing once more in La Mission (2009).
