Biography

Tarō Yamamoto is a Japanese actor and politician. He played Shogo Kawada (Boy #5) in the 2000 film Battle Royale.

Yamamoto began his career in television in the early 1990s and appeared in films including GO (2001), Moon Child (2003), Izo (2004), Kaiji: The Ultimate Gambler (2009) and My Way (2011). He received the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2004.

He entered politics after the 2011 Fukushima disaster and founded the Reiwa Shinsengumi party.
