Biography
Taryn Manning is an American actress, singer-songwriter and fashion designer. She was born on 6 November 1978 in Falls Church, Virginia, and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She began acting in the late 1990s and gained her first major film role as Maddy in Crazy/Beautiful (2001).
Manning is known for supporting parts in Crossroads (2002), 8 Mile (2002) as Janeane, Cold Mountain (2003), A Lot Like Love (2005) and Hustle & Flow (2005) as Nola. On television she has appeared in Sons of Anarchy (2008–2010) as Rita 'Cherry' Zambell, Hawaii Five-0 (2010) as Mary Ann McGarrett and Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019) as Tiffany 'Pennsatucky' Doggett. She is the vocalist of the electronic duo Boomkat with her brother Kellin and co-owns the clothing brand Born Uniqorn. The cast of Hustle & Flow received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
