Biography
Tasha Smith is an American actress and director. Born on 28 February 1971 in Camden, New Jersey, she began her career with a starring role in the NBC comedy series Boston Common (1996–97).
In film, she has appeared in The Whole Ten Yards (2004), Daddy's Little Girls (2007), Couples Retreat (2009), Jumping the Broom (2011), Addicted (2014), Dolemite Is My Name (2019) and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024), in which she plays Theresa. She starred as Angela Williams in the Tyler Perry films Why Did I Get Married? (2007) and Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010), and in the related television series For Better or Worse (2011–2017). From 2015 to 2020 she had a recurring role as Carol Holloway in the Fox series Empire.
Smith has directed episodes of series including The Rookie, 9-1-1, Black Lightning and P-Valley, and made her feature directorial debut with When Love Kills.
